Texas just has that element of je ne sais quoi, doesn't it? It's a place where the rules of the road just don't always seem to hold. The idea behind Texas Hold 'Em Poker is to form a five-card hand using the two cards that are dealt to each player, as well as three flop cards, a turn card and a river card. During a standard game, there are several rounds of betting, placed around cards turned over by the dealer from a standard deck of 52 cards. Several cards are tossed out of rotation during the process, in order to attempt to prevent cheating. Towards the end of the game, there is a perfect Texas-style showdown: each player, starting with the player to the left of the final player to call, shows their hand to the group. Needless to say, and as is the case in all Poker games, the player with the best hand wins. And that is Texas Hold 'Em Poker.
